Blackgum (Nyssa sylvatica)

Out of stock

Blackgum, also called sour gum, is a slow-growing deciduous tree. With a straight trunk and round crown, this tree is typically 30-50 feet tall. Small greenish white flowers appear in the spring, and female trees produce small dark blue fruit that are edible but quite sour (hence the name sour gum). Dark green leaves that turn red in the fall make this tree perfect as a shade tree for lawns.
