Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. Giving Tuesday kicks off the generosity season by inspiring people to give back to the organizations and causes near and dear to their heart.
This Giving Tuesday up to $3,000 in donation made to FOR will be matched by a generous Essex County FOR Lifetime Member and river lover. Essentially every dollar you donate will be DOUBLED, making Giving Tuesday the best way to make the biggest impact on our community this giving season!

This is OUR river and it is OUR responsibility to amplify the voices of those who rely on it. By joining FOR this Giving Tuesday and giving season you are helping us reach BIG goals in 2024 for our river and community:
- Plant 75,000 trees through the Rappahannock Coastal Forest Program
- Restore 10 acres of oyster reef in the Rappahannock River
- Ensure that regional and comprehensive water supply planning occurs for the Rappahannock River basin to help plan for future water needs
- Increase education programs for diverse communities throughout the watershed
- Develop a new, sustainable volunteer program to better include our community
