Summer camp underscores benefits of experiential education

Imagine the laughter of children as they play, the crunching of leaves with every step, the rushing sound of water bubbling over rocks—this has been my summer spent interning at Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR). Each day is met with a new challenge, whether it is taking a nervous summer camp attendee over the whitewater rapids at First Drop, finding new ways to develop children’s interest in the environment, or even learning new skills myself.
