Need a reason to get outside and enjoy nature in the winter? Want to help the whole family find joy in nature? Or just trying to learn more about the birds you see outside your windows? We’ve got the perfect project for you! Join people from all over the world to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, February 16-19. You can help scientists learn more about bird populations with as little as 15 minutes of your time by observing, identifying, counting, and reporting your bird sightings.
The Great Backyard Bird Count is a joint partnership between Cornell Lab of Ornithology, National Audubon Society, and Birds Canada. You can learn how to participate at https://www.birdcount.org/participate
We’ve curated some resources to help families with children PreK through 5th grade in this engage in important community science event.
