We will be celebrating at our FOR HQ (3219 Fall Hill Ave) from 6-8pm along the river with food, drinks and amazing staff poster presentations. We will also be giving out awards to community members and partners and voting on new board members.
Margi will be speaking on DWR’s work in the tidal Rappahannock, focusing on their blue catfish research and management goals.
Margi is the Tidal Rivers Fisheries Biologist with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources; she coordinates fisheries research and monitoring in VA’s tidal rivers. She received her B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from Oregon State University and her M.Sc. in Biology from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada, where she studied juvenile Atlantic sturgeon movement in tidal rivers. She worked with several universities and agencies on tidal rivers fisheries projects until moving to Virginia in 2020 to work with DWR.
This is a potluck family style event! When RSVPing you can list what you would like to bring to the potluck. FOR will provide the main dish.
