Dendrology 101: A Walk in the Woods

Join us for an engaging and educational afternoon in the woods!  Where you will learn about tree identification, discover fascinating facts, and deepen your appreciation for the trees around us. This event will be guided by FOR’s Urban and Community Forestry Specialist, Sarah Dishman.

What to Expect:
  • A guided walk through the beautiful woods of Cedar Mountain Battlefield
  • Tips and tricks for identifying trees by their leaves, bark, and structure
  • Fun and interesting tree facts from an expert in the field
  • Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Bring water and dress appropriately for the weather.
  • This event is family-friendly and open to all ages!
