Kids on the Rappahannock is a summer day camp that fuses environmental education and river recreation. Each level features activities that are developmentally appropriate for that age group and build river recreation skills from level to level. Join us for some good, old River fun this summer!

Safety for our campers is a top priority and we are following COVID safety guidelines.

Junior River Rangers – Rising 1st and 2nd graders: June 7-11, June 14-18

Rising 1st and 2nd graders spend their mornings exploring the banks of the Rappahannock. Learn about the plants and animals that make the river their home. Play games, meet new friends, hike, make sand castles, and much more! If you like to get dirty and spend time outdoors, this camp is for you! While we do get to enjoy the river along the banks and get wet while wading in the shallows of the river, Junior Rangers do not surf the rapids or paddle.  To ensure safety on and off the river, all of our camps have less than 15 campers each week.

COMBINED River Rats & River Rangers – Rising 3rd-8th graders: July 12-16, July 19-23, July 26-30

River Rats Camp (grades 3 to 5) and River Rangers Camp (grades 6 to 8) combine to provide families a way for campers of wide age ranges to attend camp during the same week! We will provide age appropriate outdoor activities with times where we are all together and times apart. Activities include hiking,  kayaking, tubing and other memorable outdoor adventures! Due to this being a full day camp, we will be transporting campers to and from the river as long as our State guidelines for COIVD-19 say it is safe to do so. Half day camps will NOT be transporting campers. To ensure safety on and off the river, all of our camps have less than 15 campers each week.

Combined River Rats and Rangers is a FULL Day camp running from 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Pick up will occur at our headquarters, 3219 Fall Hill Ave. Fredericksburg, VA. 22401. Drop off will occur at different locations along the river. All within 3 miles of our facility.

*Currently, this camp is a FULL DAY camp. Depending on State guidelines for COVID-19 in the coming months, this camp may change to a HALF DAY camp (9am-12pm). We will notify everyone if change is needed ASAP.*
