Our oyster reef restoration programs heavily rely on recycled oyster shell. Where do we get the shells? From local restaurants, partners, events, and community members! How do we collect all these shells? With volunteers!

We are in search for volunteers who can consistently help pick up 5 gallon buckets of oyster shell and drop off empty buckets from local Fredericksburg businesses. You must have a car, be able to navigate a Google Sheet for signup, and lift up to 30lbs.

CLICK HERE for more details on what routes look like. All in all, bucket pick up and drop off takes about 30 minutes.

Picks up occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at whatever time is convenient for you. Current pickup locations include:

We also recycle shell from local events and fundraisers that we can always use an oyster advocate at!
