Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Friends of the Rappahannock, and the Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge Friends on a trail workday in the lovely Rappahannock River Valley Wildlife Refuge. The Wellford tract fronts Little Carter’s Creek where bald eagles, herons, egrets and other wildlife abound.
This is a great opportunity to get outside, get active, and enjoy a great workout! While you’re not required to stay for the entire duration of the event, we kindly ask that everyone arrive at 10:00 AM to receive instructions and go over the work plan.
What to Expect:
- Install a new sign to honor Libby Norris
- Spread stone dust to cover bare spots
- Replace a culvert, and trim briars back from the edge of the trail.
- We’ll supply gloves, tools, and materials needed to complete the workâyou bring muscle and enthusiasm!
Bring a lunch and a reusable water bottle. Wear closed-toe sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting wet/muddy.
If you have questions, contact Ann Jurczyk, VA Urban Restoration Manager at ajurczyk@cbf.org or 804-258-1522.
This event is co-hosted by Friends of the Rappahannock and the Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge Friends.
