Description

Join us virtually on May 19th for the business portion of our annual meeting. This will be a virtual meeting on Zoom (see information below) where the Executive Board and members will be voting on the business portion of our usual annual members meeting. This will include approving the new slate of officers, voting on new board members, and voting on any changes or new bylaws.

New At-Large Board Members to be voted in:

  • Regis L. Keddie, III – Upper Rappahannock
Bio: Regis has been pulled towards the water for as long as he can remember.  His first real job in high school was cleaning canoes at Clore Brothers’ Outfitters just so that he could be paid to spend time at the river.  Although he and his family have always spent the bulk of their free time on the water and in the mountains, he became even more passionate about river health once he went down the rabbit hole of regenerative agriculture and realized what a tremendous difference proper livestock and farm management practices upstream made for the entire watershed.  Having spent a good bit of time on local non-profit boards and finance committees, he’s excited about the opportunity to marry that experience with his love for the river.
  • Jeff Rouse – Middle Rappahannock
Bio: Jeff grew up in southern Stafford County and spent his childhood fishing, swimming, and boating on the Rappahannock River. He and his wife, Charlotte, currently own a home in the tidal section of the Rappahannock River where they enjoy boating, fishing, and recreating on the River with family and friends. They also grow their own oysters, which they readily eat and share. Jeff currently serves as Market President and Commercial Banker for Burke and Herbert Bank. He is a Stanford University graduate and an Olympic gold and silver medalist as a member of the U.S. National Swimming Team. He lives in Fredericksburg with his wife and two daughters.
  • Jerry Dickinson – Lower Rappahannock
Bio: Jerry has spent all of his life living on the Rappahannock River between Port Royal and Tappahannock, on his family farm in Loretto. He grew up spending most of my free time as a kid either in a canoe fishing or exploring the many creeks in his jonboat. The Rappahannock has always been a part of his everyday life. Throughout the years, he has also depended on the river for his livelihood. When he was a teenager, he helped my father as a waterman. Now he depends on the river for irrigation for his farming operation, too, much like his family has for years. Now he has two sons, Peter (15) and John (9), who are growing up just as he did. He and his wife Sally, are doing their best to raise them with an understanding of how important it is to preserve and protect our precious Rappahannock.
  • Janet Maughan – Lower Rappahannock
Bio: Janet is the emeritus director of Passport Foundation, a philanthropy associated with Passport Capital, a San Francisco-based hedge fund. As its first director, Janet built a funding program to reduce human exposure to toxic chemicals at home and in communities. Before joining Passport, Janet was managing director at the Rockefeller Foundation, where she directed the foundation’s work on global policy issues. She has worked as a consultant to a wide range of foundations, nonprofits, and corporations on environmental, sustainability, and development issues. She was also a program officer in the Ford Foundation’s Rural Poverty and Resources program, where she initiated the foundation’s grantmaking on climate change and global environment issues. Janet lives with her husband and dog on the Rappahannock River in Virginia. She loves theater, literature, Greek tragedies, and most of all her six grandchildren, who keep her laughing and running.

New Slate of Officers to be voted in:

  • Tamara Muldrow – Board Chair
  • Mike Lott – Vice Chair
  • Cynthia Lucero-Chavez – Secretary
  • Sam Foltz – Treasurer
