This year’s guest speaker is FOR’s very own amazing Oyster Restoration Specialist, Jen Sagan!
Originally from the mountains of New Jersey, Jen Sagan grew up visiting the Northern Neck of Virginia and immediately fell in love with the Chesapeake Bay and its wildlife. She received a degree in marine science focusing on the eastern oyster, then returned to the Northern Neck in search of a career in oyster reef restoration. Friends of the Rappahannock provided the perfect opportunity and resources for Jen to expand their oyster programs, where she has been planning and implementing reef restoration projects with partners in the Rappahannock River and its tributaries for about 5 years.
