Girls in Nature, Empowering Girls in the Wild
GIRLS Rising 7th, 8th & 9th Graders
HQ FXBG – Week 2: GIRLS Rising 7th, 8th & 9th Graders | June 8 – June 12
During this All-Girl Power week (led by women from Friends of the Rappahannock), campers will explore ways to engage with nature and experience wild adventures. Activities include hiking, kayaking, tubing, paddleboarding, and an optional overnight camping under the stars on Thursday. We will prepare girls to be more confident in an outdoor setting and to embrace artistic and wellness opportunities provided by the great outdoors. Hang out with friends and learn how to protect the Rappahannock River throughout the entire watershed. If you want an outdoor challenge this summer, then this camp is for you! Campers will travel throughout the watershed, from the mountains to tidal areas. This camp is limited to 12 participants to encourage forming friendships with fellow campers and to ensure safety on and off the river.
This camp is a full day, running from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with an optional overnight on Thursday night if conditions permit, and 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Friday.
Pick up and drop off are at headquarters, 3219 Fall Hill Ave. Fredericksburg, VA. 22401
