Join FOR Educator Nancy Stalik for a spooktacular paddle on Accokeek Creek at our partner location, Crow’s Nest Research Center in Stafford! Enjoy a beautiful fall sunset under the Beaver Moon on this scenic, beginner-friendly flatwater paddle. Don’t forget to dress in your best pirate costume if you choose to dress up! Other Halloween-themed costumes are also acceptable!
FOR will provide life jackets, paddles and kayaks, unless you register as BYO. ***FOR kayaks have a weight limit of 228 lbs ***
Sign THIS online waiver prior to arriving. Must be 12+ years old to participate.
Schedule of the evening:
- 3:00pm – Arrive at Crow’s Nest Research Center, collect any signed paper waivers and get equipment together
- 3:15pm – River safety talk
- 3:30 – 4:35/5pm – Paddle the river!
- After our armada is stowed away, we will enjoy a bonfire and s’mores with any pirates that wish to tarry under the moonlight.
This is a ticketed event, whether you are using FOR equipment or bringing your own. All funds go directly towards keeping our river healthy and scenic and make programs like this possible!
