Friends of the Rappahannock is pleased to partner with the South Yuba River Citizen’s League (SYRCL) to bring these incredible films from around the world to Fredericksburg. SYRCL selects a hundred films from submissions from around the world. FOR’s team has selected two hours of incredible content, showcasing 20 films that cover the planet, from land to sea. We can’t wait to share these films with hundreds of existing and new members this spring. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is returning to Fredericksburg for its 5th year, and will be in Culpeper for the second time. In both cases, we’ll be making it better than ever!
In Culpeper and Fredericksburg, we’ll again have a fair before the films start showcasing the work of great local environmental organizations. Plus, we have awesome raffle items from businesses near and far: Klean Kanteen water bottles, Patagonia gear and a basket of locally-produced eats and treats. In Culpeper, we’ll also be bringing in local producers and food trucks, so join us for lunch and an environmental fair before the films begin. And in Fredericksburg, given the early morning start, we’ll have coffee and donuts!
Buy your tickets for the festival online at riverfriends.org/events or over the phone. You can also get them in our Fredericksburg office. Can’t wait to see you at the movies! And afterwards, we can’t wait to join you outside! Thanks to great partnerships with local businesses, attendees of the Wild & Scenic will find it easier than ever to get outside after the inspiration of the festival, with discounts from several local businesses for gear rentals and expeditions. So, join us for beautiful footage of our natural world – and then join us in enjoying our local natural places!
