Description

  • This shrub grows 3-10 feet tall and wide
  • Best with direct sun and partial shade. Too much sun can result in foliage burn. 
  • Be sure to keep the soil moist and well-drained. 
  • Plant in slightly acidic soil pH (5.0-6.5). For containers, use a high-quality all-purpose potting mix.
  • Flowers blooming starts in spring to summer. Flower petals appear white and fade to shades of pink.
  • In fall, the green foliage turns vivid shades of purple, red, and bronze.
  • In spring apply compost, shredded bark, or other organic matter around the base of plants. 
  • For winter protection apply 6-8 inches of mulch around the base, pull back mulch in spring.  
  • Oakleaf hydrangea is deer-resistant
