Fall 2014 Friends of the Rappahannock received $25,000 from the Dominion Foundation to expand our Student Stream Team program into seven schools throughout the Rappahannock River watershed. This program works with local students both in the classroom and in the field to promote environmental stewardship and literacy through in class lessons and presentations, as well as a field experience with FOR staff and partners. These projects include riparian buffer planting, streambank stabilization, green infrastructure stormwater best management practices, oyster reef restoration, and living shorelines. We are excited to get dirty this spring when restoration season starts!
