The depth of the skill set of our staff always amazes me! Do you need someone who can teach about watersheds, design and build a waterwheel, comb through databases and create block prints of local wildlife? We have that! Do you need someone who can teach about local plant species, paddle the entire river, run a small business, and design and build a rain garden? We have that! It is this depth in knowledge and experience that allows FOR the flexibility to fulfill our mission.

Recently this depth in staff has allowed for new roles for two of our awesome educators. Nancy Stalik will now be FOR’s MWEE (Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience) Coordinator in addition to her role as an educator. And, Brent Hunsinger has taken on the role of Student Project Coordinator in addition to his role as an educator. Both of these roles are critical as we tackle our biggest MWEE project ever in Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties (see https://riverfriends.org/mwee-program-gain-strength-in-2018/).

Join me in thanking Nancy and Brent for the service to FOR for all of these years and congratulating them on their new titles. Well done, friends!
