VOLUNTEER – Watering and Education Maintenance in Culpeper!

September 5 - November 30

If you like being outside, working independently and making a difference, one (or both) of these volunteer roles could be perfect for you!

We have two very vital tasks that have a HUGE impact on our education and restoration programs and making them possible. Having a volunteer take over these roles would help on our education and restoration team immensely as we begin to enter out very busy fall season.

Nursery Tree Watering Volunteer @ Rappahannock Conservation Nursery 
  • What: Water trees 2-3 times a week at the nursery. It will take 1-2hrs to get done. Mike, FOR River Steward will show you where everything is and best practice
  • When: Time is super flexible! Now – End of Nov. Watering amount will decrease as it gets cooler out
  • Where9432 N James Madison Hwy, Rapidan, VA 22733
  • Who: Anyone interested in individual volunteer opportunities! Anyone 16 or under will need a guardian present
Education Property Mowing Volunteer @ Float on Farms
  • What: Mow around the education tent, put-in spots and trail around Float on Farms property
  • When: Days are flexible! Needs to be mowed about 2 times a week. This may fluctuate based on weather and rain
  • Where: Float on Farms (38.348072, -78.117071)
  • Who: 21+, driving experience and interest in independent volunteer work
Education Property Fixer Upper! @ Float on Farms
  • What: Help fix and building small projects for our field trip property to help make the programs possible and safe.
  • When: Flexible! As projects pop up
  • Where: Float on Farms (38.348072, -78.117071)
  • Who: Someone with carpentry skills. Someone with access to their own workshop (FOR provides all supplies). 18+ years old.
