Tree Planting at Rucker Farm
March 30 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Join us on Thursday March 30th for an afternoon of planting trees at Rucker Farm! From 12 pm – 4 pm FOR staff will be on site to help plant 400 native trees and shrubs along the headwaters of the Rappahannock River Watershed. FOR will provide gloves, tools, and planting material. Just bring your work boots, sunscreen and water to join us for an evening at a local working farm to install a restoration project. All ages are welcome and all attendees must have a signed waiver. Waivers will be provided at the event.
The process of tree planting requires scalping to remove grass around the planting area, digging holes, planting of the seedlings, and installing tree shelters and wooden stakes.
