Join us on Thursday March 23rd for an afternoon of planting trees at Pen Druid Brewing! From 3pm – 6pm FOR staff will be on site to help plant 300 native trees and shrubs along the Thornton River, a tributary to the Rappahannock River Watershed. FOR will provide gloves, tools, and planting material. Just bring your work boots, sunscreen and water to join us for an evening at the brewery helping to maintain a restoration project. All ages are welcome and all attendees must have a signed waiver. Waivers will be provided at the event.
The process of tree planting requires scalping to remove grass around the planting area, digging holes, planting of the seedlings, and installing tree shelters and wooden stakes.
Afterwards, volunteers will be able to enjoy a FREE pint from the brewery! (Only 21+ volunteers)
