Outdoor Learning Lab at the River’s Edge: Week 2

Join Friends of the Rappahannock environmental educators for interactive lessons at our nature preserve. Each program has different time slots. Register for the program at the day and time of your choice below.
Animal Skills: Grades K-5
Investigate the ways animals experience their surroundings and how they adapt to their habitats. Use your senses to observe then describe and chart. Discover how animals use their senses for survival.
Minimum age to participate is 5 years old.
The following VA Science SOL objectives are covered during this program: K.1, K.2, K.4, K.6, K.7, K.9, 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 2.1, 2.5, 2.7, 3.1, 3.4, 3.6, 3.10, 4.1, 4.5, 4.9, 5.1, 5.5
Tree Lovers: Grades K-5
How do animals, including humans, use trees? Why are they so important? Learn the parts of a tree, create a rubbing, and a nature journal.
Minimum age to participate is 5 years old.
