This is a lovely event and great opportunity for FOR to engage with community members about our mission, river and our oyster restoration program.
Some day of responsibilities include: helping to set up an outreach table & tent, placing bushel baskets and signs around the festival, monitoring the baskets during the event to ensure they don’t overflow (unlikely), helping to collect full baskets & signs at the end of the day.
Please RSVP on what times and days you’d like to help support below on Sept 21st and 22nd! You are more than welcome to sign up for more than one time slot (:
The shells you’d be collecting will ultimately end up being used in our ‘spat on shell’ program where baby oysters (aka spat) are released on the shell in a tank. From there, we place the shell with spat on them into our oyster reefs to increase our oyster population! Thank you for helping make this possible!
