Join FOR River Steward October Greenfield and FOR Board Member & Ornithologist Dr. Andrew Dolby for a Bird Walk on Eldon Farms in Sperryville! Birders of all experience levels will enjoy this guided hike while looking for many of the spring migrants returning to the area.
Eldon Farms is a family-held 7,100-acre property in Rappahannock County that was purchased in the 1960s. It is primarily a cow-calf operation with timber and hunting as other sources of revenue. Eldon Farms is always in the process of improving conservation practices, including the protection of water sources and streams. There are currently 21 American Kestrel nest boxes, 12 Barn Owl nest boxes, and 15 Eastern Bluebird boxes on Eldon Farms, all of which are monitored regularly.
Please enter the property at the driveway with an “Eldon Farms” sign and park near the brown barn.
