Join us for our 3rd Shiver by the River! Come out to our Nature Preserve, after the sun sets, to learn about the nocturnal natives that live by the Rappahannock and have a spooky good time! Our eerie educators have put together information tables, with activities and crafts to help demystify some of the creatures others might call frightening. Relax by the campfire, participate in a scavenger hunt, test your courage with our creepy crawlies, and more! EarthQuest will also be bringing some of their rehabilitated raptors and other amazing birds!
This event is perfect for children ages Pre-K through 4th grade. Make sure to wear closed-toe shoes and bring a flashlight or headlamp! Adults MUST STAY with their children. No drop offs will be allowed.
Animal activities and crafts will be in our lighted, covered pavilions. Participants will access and move between stations on natural surface trails in the woods, with no artificial lighting other than that provided by a personal flashlight or headlamp. This is meant to be a fun, educational event rather than a haunted woods.
