Outdoor Learning Lab: Week 4

Join Friends of the Rappahannock environmental educators for interactive lessons at our nature preserve. Each program has different time slots. Register for the program at the day and time of your choice below.

Indigenous People’s Day: Grades K-5

Discover how Native Americans found what they needed to survive. Learn about their tools and create your own artifact.

Minimum age to participate is 5 years old.

The following VA History and Social Science SOL objectives are covered during this program: VS.1, VS.2, VS.3, VS.4, VS.6; USI.1, USI.2, USI.3; 2010 Science SOL’s: 4.5, 4.9, 5.7

STEM Hydropower: Grades 4-9

Humans use water for many reasons. Use your engineering skills to design and create a waterwheel, then test it on the river.

The following VA Science SOL objectives are covered during this program: 4.1, 4.5, 4.8, 5.1, 6.1, 6.5, 6.7, 6.9
