Old House Vineyards Volunteer Tree Planting Event
November 30, 2020 @ 9:00 am - December 1, 2020 @ 3:00 pm
Free
Join Friends of the Rappahannock at Old House Vineyards in Culpeper, VA to plant native trees!
Mountain Run is a large tributary to the Rappahannock River and runs right through downtown Culpeper. Like most streams in the area, Mountain Run receives lots of runoff from roads, parking lots, and buildings, every time it rains. Native trees are nature’s best defense against stormwater runoff and pollution entering our waterways. We will be planting trees throughout the vineyard to improve habitat and protect water quality.
All volunteers must register below and sign a waiver to participate. This event will be held rain or shine.
We will meet onsite at 9:00am to plant native tree saplings throughout the vineyard. We will have shovels, water, and snacks available. Please bring your own work gloves.
Participants should bring:
- Mask
- Bug Spray and/or Sunscreen
- Water bottle
- Work gloves
- Please dress for the weather
