Hunter’s Island History Tour – CANCELLED

April 3, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

$24.00 – $30.00

**Due to the extensive amount of rain this week and cold temperatures, the Hunter’s Island History Tour is cancelled as it will be unsafe to ferry participants across the river**

Travel with us to the historic Hunter’s Island, located in the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg. During early spring, the island has beautiful wildflowers. Interpreters will share the history behind historic remains and the uses of the island over the years.

Participants will meet at the Friends of the Rappahannock Headquarters Office, paddle to Hunter’s Island, and then have historical interpretation while hiking the island.

To accommodate COVID safety measures, this year’s participants must have prior paddling experience. Only register if you have paddled a canoe or kayak before.

All COVID-19 safety measures will be followed. Participants will be expected to wear masks during check-in and while traveling in canoes. This trip is limited to 16 participants so social distancing can be observed during the rest of the tour.
