Hopyard Landing Kayak Tour
September 12 @ 8:45 am - 11:00 am$24 – $30
Join FOR River Steward Brent Hunsinger for a guided paddle tour of the Rappahannock River and the marshes around Buckners Reach. This morning float begins and ends at the public boat ramp at Hop Yard Landing. This trip is on moving tidal water. There will be tidal influences to paddle with during the trip. Minimum age is 12 years and some paddling experience is helpful.
On this trip we will learn about water quality, marsh ecology, and the wildlife of the area. We will also observe and discuss why FOR and other partners are working to have the river downstream of Fredericksburg designated as State Scenic.
Meet at Hop Yard Landing access site at 8:45 a.m. to check-in. The Landing is located at Hop Yard Farm Cir, King George, VA 22485. The boat ramp is located at the end of the access road. Plenty of parking is located in a lot on the left before the launch ramp. We’ll launch from the boat ramp and expect to return by 11am.
