Enjoy chatting with community members? Do you have some FOR or river knowledge (or want to gain some:)? Do you want to help advocate for our waterways?!
Join us this fall at one of our FOR outreach tables! We have SO many community events coming up across the watershed.
Having volunteers help at these tabling and outreach types of events is a HUGE help to us! It allows for more opportunity for us to connect with the general public on local environmental and river issues, fundraise, and share FOR and river education materials with our community. With so many events and programs, your support and volunteering is essential!
Sign up below to volunteer at any of our of upcoming events. At all of these events we will have an FOR staff member there with you so you are not on your own and are learning about FOR along the way!

Nov 9 - Kilmarnock Tree Giveaway
Where: Town park (150 N St, Kilmarnock, VA)
When: 9am-Noon
What: People will be picking up free trees that they pre registered for. You will help get those trees to their cars, grab trees from piles and help break things down at the end of the giveaway. Easy fun day!
Nov 23 - Spotsy Tree Giveaway
Where: Cosner Park
When: 9an-Noon
What: People will be picking up free trees that they pre registered for. You will help get those trees to their cars, grab trees from piles and help break things down at the end of the giveaway. Easy fun day!
Nov 9 - Essex County Museum Oyster Roast
Where: Essex County Museum
When: 1:30-4:30pm
What: We will be chatting with community members about our mission, ways to get involved, river issues, oyster restoration and how to become an FOR member.
Nov 2nd - Rappahannock Conservation Nursery Open House
Where: 302 North Main Street
Culpeper, Virginia 22701
When: 10:30am-2pm
What: Supporting our FOR outreach table, guide guests around the event and/or help with our tree giveaway pickup. Super fun new event!
Oct 18 - Culpeper P&R Moonlight Halloween Candy Hunt
Where: Culpeper County Fieldhouse (16388 Competition Drive, Culpeper, VA)
When: 5-8:30pm
What: Supporting our FOR outreach table to engage with community members on our mission and help run an river education component!
Oct 12 - King George Fall Festival
Where: King George High School
When: Shift 1 (9am-12:30pm) OR Shift 2 (12:30-4pm)
