Friends of the Rappahannock and Piedmont Environmental Council to help us plant trees along a stream that flows to the Hazel River on a farm in Rappahannock County Virginia. The project is focused on planting trees to reduce erosion, protect water quality, and improve habitat for fish and wildlife. When Capt. John Smith explored the Rappahannock River in 1608, he was met at the fall line in Fredericksburg by a hail of arrows from native fishermen. Any Brownie, Junior, and Cadette that will participate in the weekend events need to purchase a ticket. Troop leaders, parents, and any other chaperones do not need to purchase tickets and are welcome to participate in the weekend activities. Adults will need to stay overnight with the Girl Scouts if they are planning on camping.
