Krista holds a Bachelor’s of Science from University of Mary Washington (1998) and Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University (2003). Prior to joining the Friends of the Rappahannock in 2000, Krista worked for Dewberry and Davis LLC as a Floodplain Analyst, interned for the Army’s Corps of Engineers with their Wetlands Regulatory Program, and performed Bald Eagle monitoring as an independent contractor. Krista’s specialties at Friends of the Rappahannock include water quality and habitat monitoring, watershed management planning, GIS mapping and analysis, habitat restoration, grant writing, education, and the creation of interpretive materials including the recently published Rappahannock River Water Trail Guide series. During the course of her employment with the Friends, Krista’s work has also included speaking at conferences, event planning, volunteer coordination, managing interns, running river cleanups and writing articles for Friends’ organizational newsletter.
